For people who are starting to have orthodontics when the tools or braces have been installed, we have to take special care of our mouth and teeth.
1. Brush your teeth after every meal and before going to bed. You should select a toothbrush for orthodontic patients and use dental floss to clean between the teeth at least once a day before brushing.
2.Use fluoride toothpaste to prevent tooth decay.
3. Visit the dentist every six months for routine dental examinations, cleanings, and decay checks. Because people with braces are more susceptible to gingivitis and tooth decay than the average person.
4. Avoid chewing hard, sticky, crispy foods such as ice cubes, squid, nuts, and chewing gum because it may make the orthodontic tools fall off.
5. Around the tongue or cheek region, there may be irritation or ulcers. Dental wax or moist cotton paste may be used to cover the tool's rough edges or the place where the wire crosses the tube.
6. For orthodontic treatment, toothaches and loose teeth are common side effects. Recovery time after tool adjustments might range from 5-7 days.
7. Cooperation in wearing elastics, night braces, and all removable appliances is most important to treatment success.
8. Call immediately if a wire breaks or a band or bracket comes loose. We need to schedule a special appointment to repair.
9. See the dentist as usual at the scheduled time.
